MEHR: The commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the perpetrators of terrorist crimes in Homs, Syria, will pay dearly.

In a message to the Syrian defense minister and Army chief on Saturday, Major General Hossein Salami strongly condemned the heinous terrorist drone attack on a graduation ceremony of Syrian officers which left a number of civilians and soldiers martyred.

Salami underlined that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack and their supporters will face a crushing response and pay dearly.

He also extended condolences to the Syrian Army, government, and nation, praying for a speedy recovery for the injured.

The international community expects international bodies, especially the United Nations Security Council, to act on their responsibility in the face of occupiers that disrupt the security and peace of the Syrian people, General Salami highlighted.

At least 112 people were killed on Thursday in a drone attack on a military academy in Syria.

Civilians and military personnel were killed in the attack on the military academy in the central province of Homs, Syria's defense ministry said, adding that "terrorist" groups had used drones.

Syria's defense and foreign ministries vowed to respond "with full force".
