An economic official in Iran's West Azarbaijan province said that the new transit and export border crossing between Iran and Turkey under the name of Razi Khoy-Kapykoy has opened.

MEHR: An economic official in Iran's West Azarbaijan province said that the new transit and export border crossing between Iran and Turkey under the name of Razi Khoy-Kapykoy has opened.

Javad Karmi, Deputy Coordinator of Economic Affairs of Governor of West Azarbaijan told Iranian media that, "With the support and development-focused approach of the 13th government [under President Ebrahim Raeisi] in the province, the new transit and export border gate of Iran's Razi Khoy- Kapıköy in Turkey was inaugurated."

He said that the opening of the new border gate came as part of recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and Turkey. 

"In the recent meeting, a 30-clause memorandum of understanding was signed between Iran and Turkey, which contained the special attention of both sides to the development of comprehensive cooperation in economic fields," Karami said.

"The development of infrastructures, opening of new border crossings, as well as the creation of a new transit and export border in Kapi Koi - Razi Khoy, were among the most important part of these MoUs, the implementation of which will lead to a good expansion and promotion of regional international trade between the two sides," The West Azarbaijan economic official said.
