MEHR: The Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has called on the economic activists and and Iranian diplomats in Lebanon to expand trade and economic relations with the country.

The Iranian foreign minister made the comments on Sunday in a meeting with the ambassador and members of the embassy and representatives of some Iranian organizations and institutions living in Lebanon in the Iranian embassy compound in Beirut.

In the meeting, the latest state of bilateral relations with the friendly and brotherly country of Lebanon, developments in Palestine and some other regional developments were discussed and exchanged.

After hearing the views and opinions of the Iranian ambassador and some of the attendees at the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian highlighted the strong political, religious, cultural and social commonalities between the two countries of Iran and Lebanon and added that, "it is necessary to make more efforts and intensify joint efforts by  the government and private sectors in Lebanon, and bilateral relations in various economic and commercial fields should be expanded and enhanced to the desired level."

Emphasizing the importance of Lebanon's stability and security for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the impact of Lebanon's security on the entire region, the minister of foreign affairs of Iran said that helping to advance the political process in Lebanon and developing bilateral relations with that country in economic and commercial fields along with political relations are among the priorities of the 13th government [in Iran under president President Raeisi.]

Extending appreciation to the praiseworthy efforts of Iranian diplomats and the representatives of Iranian organizations and institutions working in Lebanon, he emphasized the need for more efforts and initiative and innovation in work.
