MEHR: The ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani slammed the major role of the UK in the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Strongly condemning and rejecting the baseless anti-Iran accusations made by the British representative at the UN Security Council public briefing held on November 29, 2023, Iravani stressed that the British minister, while ignoring the responsibility of his country regarding the current situation of the Middle East and destabilizing policies of the UK, tried to blame the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"Undoubtedly, Britain has played a fundamental role in the long-term suffering of the Palestinian people," he stressed.
He went on to say that the UK's continued and unwavering support for Israel's genocidal crimes and aggressions against the Palestinian people and the countries of the region significantly reduces the country's moral authority to judge the intentions and policies of others.
At the Security Council meeting on Palestine, this British official accused Iran of playing a role in the Palestinian developments and claimed that the threats caused by the Iran-backed groups in West Asia are not acceptable.
