Earlier, the Russian special envoy for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, said that this meeting will focus on the topic of inclusivity of the current Afghan government, counterterrorism, and drug-related crime.
Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Taliban, who went to Russia to attend the meeting, met with various Russians before the meeting, according to local Afghan Tolo TV report.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the joint statement of the participating nations will be approved at the end of this meeting.
Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Iranian president's special envoy for Afghanistan who is also the Iranian ambassador to Kabul, represented Iran in the Moscow Format meeting in Kazan.
