Iran, Iraq mull over judicial cooperation

MEHR: A judicial Iranian delegation has held talks with senior Iraqi judicial officials to discuss bilateral judicial cooperation.

A judicial Iranian delegation headed by the Iranian judiciary chief’s deputy for international affairs, who is also secretary of Iran’s High Council for Human Rights, held a meeting with Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council Chairman Faiq Zidane in Baghdad on Tuesday.

According to Iraqi News Agency (INA), in the meeting, the two sides discussed the continuation of cooperation between Iran and Iraq in the judicial and legal fields.

The Iranian Judiciary has said in a statement that the Iranian delegation has traveled to Iraq in order to participate in the first meeting of the Joint Judicial Committee to Counter Terrorism.

Iran's judicial judiciary was also sent to Iraq last year in order to follow up on the martyrdom case of Lt. Gen Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
